       • Must be an active member of our program (participate in shows and the troupe). 

       • Must be a current junior (11th) or senior (12th).

       • Must have no more than 1 F at any time as well as regular attendance in all classes.

       • Demonstrate attributes of leadership, character, and discipline.

       • Ability to attend any and all rehearsals/meetings during the rehearsal and performance process

     • Answer the following prompts....

       • ​Directing a show (no matter how big or small) is a large undertaking. Given the level of commitment require, please explain why you want to direct a one act this school year.

       • Directors need to demonstrate skills in leadership, character, organization, as well as proficiency in acting, blocking, and staging. Please explain and provide examples of how you demonstrate these attributes.

2. In order to complete your application, you must provide details of the show(s) you are interested in directing!

• When considering shows we will not only look at individuals shows, but how they fit together. In previous years, we have aimed for a mixture of comedic and dramatic performances. That being said, it may be in your best interest to search for shows of different genres and styles to submit with your application.

• If you need help in researching or finding shows, Mrs. Bieser and/or Mr. Mueller can be a great help!

• You may provide anywhere from 1 - 3 shows you would be interested in producing! For each show, you must provide the following:

  • Title & Author (if it is self written, please indicate so here)

  • Genre (Comedy, Drama, etc.)

  • Approximate run-time (ideally around the 20 minute mark)

  • Number of characters (ideally 2 - 6 actors required)

  • Summary of Plot (a very brief, 2 - 3 sentence summary of the show)

• When selecting shows, please remember you will have roughly 3 weeks to put the performance together, as such, make sure the shows you are listing are ones that feel accomplishable during that time frame!
